Sad News

I write this with a bit of sadness in my heart, accompanied by a feeling of relief and sense of knowing that we have done what is right. In the past thirteen we have had the privilege of meeting, teaching and getting to know so many wonderful people. Because of all of these wonderful folks, our school has always been a positive place for children and their families.

Unfortunately over the years we have also had some folks join the school that were not a good match for the environment and culture of positivity we try so hard to promote. When this has happened we have asked them to leave. Luckily I can count on only one hand the number of students we have had to expel.

Today, for the first time in the history of our school, we have expelled a parent. This parent’s consistent negative actions and behaviors were unacceptable and not conducive to our positive atmosphere. We tried to address the issue directly to no avail. The negativity continued. We had no other choice than to ask this person to leave our school. We have also made it very clear that this parent’s student is still very welcome at our school.

Some of you have come to me and complained about this person. You have been heard. I’m sure some of you have a pretty good idea who I am talking about. I ask all of you PLEASE do not gossip about or talk poorly of this person. If any of you have any comments, questions or concerns, please let me know. Let’s keep our focus on the positive. By focusing on the positive we can ensure that all of the student’s here can continue to learn, grow and improve.
